How to reset the maintenance light on a 2003 Honda Civic
At predetermined intervals, the maintenance light on your 2003 Honda Civic's dashboard will light up (MAINT REQD). This light is meant to remind you to take your car in for a maintenance service or tune-up; it does not mean there is anything wrong with the car.
If you've already done the suggested maintenance, or you just don't want to take the car in any time soon, you can reset the maintenance light yourself. To reset the maintenance light, turn the car off and take the key out of the ignition. Push in and hold the trip odometer reset button (the stem button located above the steering wheel on the instrument panel). Then put the key in the ignition and start the car. Keep holding the button down until you see the MAINT REQD light go out. (It should take about 5-7 seconds.) Once the light goes out, release the button.
