In a 2003 Honda Civic coupe, the passenger side power window switch can be replaced fairly easily if it ever conks out on you. Your local auto parts store or Honda service center should be able to order a new switch for you, but you can often find them on eBay for $20 or $30. (Be sure you are getting the passenger side switch for the two-door model.)
To remove the passenger side window switch, you'll need to remove the upper portion of the arm rest as well. In the arm rest tray, there is a small circular cover; pop this cover up from its front side using a small flathead screwdriver or pocketknife. With the cover out of the way you'll see a screw -- remove this screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
The arm rest is held in place by a number of plastic tabs. Wedge your flathead screwdriver or blade underneath the upper portion of the arm rest, where it is separated from the main arm rest support, and slowly pop these tabs out to release the arm rest. It's easiest if you start from the front and work your way toward the back. Once all of the tabs have been released, you can lift the arm rest out of position slightly, revealing the switch connector and wires.
Remove the switch connector from the switch. Pull the connector away from the switch, while at the same time pushing in on the tab on the bottom of the connector, in the center. This tab can be hard to push in far enough, so you may want to use a blade or other flat instrument for leverage. Push in on the tab as close to the switch as you can. With the tab pushed in, you can pull the connector away from its terminal.
Now the switch and arm rest piece are completely disconnected from the side door. Two screws hold the switch in place on the arm rest; remove these with a Phillips screwdriver and then you can attach the new switch in its place.
Once you've screwed the new switch down, reattach the connector, then push the arm rest and switch back into position. Push the rear side of the arm rest down first, until it locks in place, then push the sides and eventually the front down. Be careful not to pinch any wires. With the arm rest firmly attached, secure it with the screw you removed earlier, then close the screw cover.
