If the "Maintenance Required" light on your 2005 Camry's dashboard is lit up, it may mean it's time to take your car in for some routine work. Most mechanics and auto technicians will reset the light for you when you bring the car in, but you can also reset it yourself.
To reset the "Maintenance Required" light for a 2005 Toyota Camry:
- Make sure your odometer is showing the total mileage counter rather than the A or B trip mileage counter. If it's showing trip A or B mileage, press the odometer button (above the steering wheel, in the instrument panel) until the total mileage is displayed.
- Turn the car off.
- Push and hold the odometer button.
- Turn the key to ACC, rather than all the way, so that the instrument panel lights up but the engine doesn't start.
- After about 5 or 6 seconds the "Maintenance Required" light should go out. Release the odometer button.
- Turn the car off (or on, if you're going somewhere).
