How to replace a front turn signal bulb on a 2014 Honda CR-V

(commissions earned)Replacing a front turn signal bulb is harder some vehicles than others. You may have to remove protective covers or weirdly-shaped clips, or reach in at an awkward angle. On the 2014 Honda CR-V, replacing a front turn signal bulb (part number 1157A) couldn't be much easier.

First, pop the hood (the lever is located near your left foot when sitting in the driver's seat). Prop the hood up using the bar that lies across the front of the engine compartment. Locate the wires leading to the bulb you need to change -- they'll disappear into the housing directly behind where the turn signal is located (see images below).

Grip the bulb housing and twist it counter-clockwise about a quarter turn. The housing will come loose and you can pull it out (toward the rear of the vehicle).

With the bulb exposed, grip the bulb close to the base and twist it counter-clockwise a quarter turn. Then you'll be able to remove the bulb.

Insert the new bulb (a tab on the bulb's metal base will line up with a slot in the housing) and turn the bulb counter-clockwise a quarter turn to lock it in place. Then reinsert the bulb housing and twist it counter-clockwise a quarter turn.

Test the turn signal to be sure the new bulb is installed correctly and working. If it is, you're done... just close the hood and be on your merry way.
